As we look to the possibility of needing to offer virtual ways in which we can support your child with learning in future dates, we want to ensure all children have access to a device at home for these learning needs.  We will not be able to push out the VPN (Virtual Private Network) filtering system to our iPads due to the restraints with timing, staffing and lack of licenses, therefore you must ensure you are monitoring your child as they are using their iPad for learning.

We know many of our families may choose to use personal devices at home and not check out an iPad at this time.  As long as your child is able to access the internet on a device at home, they would be able to use most all of the online tools necessary for learning.  This may vary with certain apps for iPad, but educators will work with families.

As far as wireless access, we do know there are several companies (such as AT&T, Spectrum, Verizon, Frontier, etc.) that are offering up free wireless hotspots for families if this is a need.

We are not asking for the $25 - Coppell ISD Device Protection Plan fee, in order to ensure any of our learners who are needing devices would be able to have that support and not be limited by a charge.  By checking out a device, you are agreeing that you and your child will take care of the device during the time of checkout.

We will be sending out information later this week through emails for specific online resources that we would like our learners to use as well as the specific pick update for the iPad device.

En lo que se determina la necesidad de ofrecer opciones virtuales para apoyar a su hijo/a con el aprendizaje en fechas futuras, queremos asegurarnos de que todos los alumnos tengan acceso a un dispositivo en casa para sus necesidades de aprendizaje. No podremos monitorear el uso de las IPads mediante el VPN (Virtual Private Network-por sus siglas en Inglés) dado a que tenemos poco tiempo y personal así cómo un número limitado de licencias. Es de suma importancia que monitoreen el uso adecuado del dispositivo en casa mientras ellos se enfocan en el aprendizaje.

Sabemos que muchas de nuestras familias pueden elegir usar su dispositivo personal en casa y no tomar prestada un IPad en este momento. Mientras que sus hijos puedan accesar el internet en casa, ellos podrán usar la mayoría de las herramientas en línea necesarias para el aprendizaje. Ésto puede variar con algunas aplicaciones para el IPad, pero los educadores trabajarán muy de cerca con las familias.
